MASKS is an annual show at the Fort Collins Museum of Art (MoA). Local artists and designers are all given the same white, ceramic mask and asked to create an original sculptural piece to donate to the show. Pieces are auctioned off throughout the show via silent auction open to the public. MASKS promotes local artists and cultivates creativity in the community.

Beauty From Brokenness
From the beginning, I knew God wanted something specific. He has been teaching me that when we give him our brokenness, he makes something beautiful, and that inspired the design of the mask. I used kintsugi, a Japanese artform that repairs broken pottery with gold as a way to not only restore the piece, but to embrace the process the breaking that the piece went through. Once could say that in order to have beauty, something must first be broken. And from the brokenness of one mask, came the beauty of this one.
